The Group of 20 (G20) is a summit of 19 major economies and the EU, represented by the European Central Bank and the European Commission. Created as a response to the 2008 financial crisis and the G-20 addresses issues that it believes go beyond the responsibilities of any single organization.
Due to many years of conflict and ferocious instability seen in Syria and Iraq, an obvious concern for the Middle Eastern actors in the G20 was the basic aspect of security. There are however, many larger problems persist beyond local bounds for the G20 community.
